What is the purpose of the O/C Suspects?

A

They supervise the suspects team for the purpose of :

  • obtaining info about suspects and POIs.
  • obtaining enough info about suspects and POIs for the O/C I to establish their involvement or to eliminate
  • seek evidence to cover the ingredients of the offence
  • mitigating and dealing with possible defences
  • providing a basis for further investigation

  • the circumstances, scene and witness evidence
  • details of POIs, suspects

How are investigation priorities set?

A

Suspects are investigated in order of priority. Where no firm line of inquiry then anonymous tips are given priority and acted on immediately.

Why are suspect team briefings done regularly?

A

Inquiries and their results are discussed to maintain information flow between team members and the rest of the investigation staff. Priority info must be brought to the OCIs attention as necessary.
