Information collection
An activity that synchronizes and integrates the planning and employment of sensors and assets as well as processing, exploitation, and dissemination systems in direct support of current and future operation
Information Collection Capability
Is any human or automated sensor, asset, or processing, exploitation, and dissemination system that can be directed to collect information that enables better decision making, expands understanding of the OE, and supports warfighting functions in decisive action
What is the purpose of information collection?
To provide the commander detailed, timely, and accurate intelligence to support situational understanding and decision making
When does collection begin?
Collection begins as soon as mission requirements are identified
