God is the “Maker of heaven and earth” means…
A
- He is the same God as we find in the Old Testament.
- That he made everything “out of nothing” (ex nihilo)
- That he is the sustainer of all things
- That he is the one making all things new

“Christ” means…
A
The King––who was promised to Israel; who redeems or rescues; who is exalted over all other governments

“Jesus” means…
A
“God saves.” This was the name Joseph gave our Lord; it is his human name.

“Our Lord” means…
A
- Jesus is God. (Lord=Jehovah/Yahewe)
2. Jesus is our supreme leader and we obey him in everything.

“His Only Son” means…
A
Jesus is the unique Son of God; no one else is like him. (Greek: monogenés ~ “only begotten” but we do not mean he was created; the Son is eternal.)

A
The Son was not created, but the Spirit was instrumental in his joining to humanity.

A
The human flesh of Jesus was created from Mary. His body comes from his mother.
