Fire in the tubes and water in the shell.
What is the advantages of a fire tube boiler?
Portable
smaller
contains a larger volume of water for a given rating size tan a water tube boiler.
What are the trips of the APHB?
Loss of fuel oil pressure. Loss of combustion air. loss of atomizing air. low water level. High steam pressure. Loss of pilot or main flame.
What are the 4 statuses of the APHB?
In service.
Stand by / Low fire hold.
Wet layup.
Shutdown.
What are the Three positions for the feed pump control switch and what is the pumps response?
Auto- the pumps will continuously run.
Hand - the pumps will cycle on water level.
off - the pumps will not run.
What are the 4 auto start phases of the APHB?
Safety Circuit Check Phase.
Boiler Purge Cycle Phase.
Pilot Flame Phase.
Main Flame Phase.
What is the opacity limits for the APHB?
Stack discharge opacity SHALL NOT exceed a 6 minute average limit of 20%.
Except for ONE six minute average per hour of not more than 27% opacity.
This means that you SHALL NOT have black smoke exiting the stack
What are the Three positions for the APHB burner control switch?
Auto - we are supplying Aux Steam.
LFH - Hot stand by.
