characterization
the techniques that writers use to create viable characters.
character trait- character’s personality
direct characterization- directly states a character’s traits or makes comments about character’s nature.
dynamic character- a character who changes throughout the course of the story.
flat character- unimportant character
indirect characterization- doesn’t directly state a character’s traits.
round character-fully described by author
static character- does not change or who changes very little in story.
chronological order
the order in which events happen in time
clarifying
the reader’s process of pausing occasionally while reading to quickly review what he or she understands.
