The writer of speakers word choice
Connotation
An emotional association or implication connected to a word (inexpensive vs cheap)
Syntax
The writer or speaker’s arrangement of words within a phrase, clause, or sentence
Tone
The writers or speakers emotional attitude toward the audience or subject matter
Emotional appeal
The writer or speaker’s attempt to persuade an audience by appealing to the audience’s emotions
Logical appeal
The writer or speaker’s attempt to convince an audience using facts, scientific research, statistics, or experts
