How does the electoral college work?
A state has a certain number of electors gathered from the number of representatives it has in congress (a direct result of the population). Districts within the state vote for a specific outcome, and the party with the greatest number of local districts earns all the electoral votes in that state.
What is an antecedent boundary?
A boundary established before an area becomes heavily occupied.

What is a subsequent boundary?
A border drawn in an area that has been settled and where cultural landscapes exist or are in the process of being established; opposite of an antecedent boundary.
What is UNCLOS?
The United Nations Convention on the Law of Sea. Establishes the EEZ.
What is a consequent boundary?
A type of subsequent boundary that takes into account the differences that exist within a cultural landscape, separating groups with distinct traits.
Example: Boundaries between India and Pakistan/Bangladesh were drawn based on religious differences.
What is a superimposed boundary?
A type of boundary that is drawn over existing accepted borders by stronger, outside conquering forces.
Example: When Africa was divided by European powers during the Berlin Conference.
What is a geometric boundary?
A type of boundary that is mathematically drawn as a curve or as a straight line between two points.
Example: The 49th parallel between the United States and Canada.
What does it mean to administer a border?
To manage the way a border is maintained and how goods and people will cross them.
