Biological factors definition
Factors relating to the body that impact on health and wellbeing, such as genetics, body weight, blood pressure, cholesterol levels and birth weight
Genetic predisposition
An increased likelihood of developing a particular disease based on a persons genetic makeup
Low birth weight definition
weighing less than 2500 grams at birth
Sociocultural factors definition
1) the social and cultural conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work and age. 2) these conditions include socioeconomic status, social connections, family, cultural norms, food security, early life experiences and access to affordable, culturally appropriate health care
Environmental factors definition
The physical surroundings in which we live work and play
Biological factors examples (3)
Body weight, Blood pressure, blood cholesterol, glucose regulation, birth weight and genetics

Cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and arthritis
