Chondroma
benign tumour of hyaline cartilage
often hands and feet
peak incidene 20-50 y/o
CF: pain, swelling, sometimes asymptomatic
Ewing sarcoma

Tx
Malignant bone tumour, soft
80% pt <20y/o
Usually diaphysis in long bones
CF: tender, warm, fever, leukocytosis, anemia
Tx: neo-adj., surgical exc., adj. CT
Basal cell papilloma
wart-like
basal keratinocytes overgrowth
bultjes moedervlekken basically
Osteochondroma/ Exostosis
Most common benign tumor, slow-growing
bones w/ endochondral origen, often near metaphysis/growth plate
CF: overgrowth of bone&cartilage, hard painless mass, diff. length limbs, joint& muscle pain
Osteosarcoma
20% of all bone cancers
peak incidence adolescence (growth spurt)
CF: pain, fractures, swelling

Chondrosarcoma
Malignant, cartilage producing tumors
4 sub-classifications
commonly axial bones
CF: pain, progressive enlarging masses
Osteomyelitis
Infection of bone (marrow)
primary or secondary
CF: malaise, fever, leukocytosis, pyogenic or mycobacterial
Osteonecrosis
common causes: fractures and corticosteroid use
CF: Pain, secondary osteoarthritis
Synovial sarcoma
tumor of soft tissues (muscle, ligament)
CF: swelling, pain
Tx: agressively w/ CT, surgry & RT
aggressive malignancy and poor prognosis
