Main concern

Barrier
Anaphora shows the barrier “A barrier of suspicion. A barrier of rejection…” that was between nations, he wants to destroy that barrier.

Triplet to show his aim “Peace that is not shaken by storms, swayed by suspicion or jeopardised by ill intensions” High modality language and alliteration
Recognise the past
Recognise the wrongs of the past to forge a better future “We used to reject you…we used to brand you as “so called” Israel the Inverted commas - he is not ignoring the past but attempting to over come it. Through cooperation, real peace can be established people need to open their hearts and their mind.
Common belief
They have common religious heritage and religious identity as they believe in, and are committed to the same God. “We are all Muslims, Christians and Jews, worship God and no one but God”
Differences
Need to set aside their differences and use this commonality to achieve peace
