Q

Clopidogrel

  • example
  • moa
  • SE
  • monitor
A

Moa - irreversible binds to p2y12 adp receptor on platelet which block activation of glycoprotein iib/iiia pathway

SE- thrombocytopenia, bleeding. GI bleed aplastic anaemia, GI ulcers, allergy,

Indication - acs (loading dose of 300 mg follow by 75 mg daily)

Q

Aspirin

  • example
  • moa
  • SE
  • cautions
A

Moa: non selective NSAIDs that non compeitively blocks cox which inhibit synthesis of prostaglandins

Anti platelet via decrease synthesis of thromboxane a2 (platelet aggregation) via inhibition of cox

SE: gi bleed, bleed, hepatic injury and renal impairment, dyspepsia, cat c

Stop 7 days before surgery unless stent or cabg

Monitor: rf, UEC, GIT bleed
Indicated as first line for mi - 300 to 900 mg (every 4-6 hours) then 150 mg daily
