Antimuscarinics Flashcards
Ganglionic blockers
Trimethophan (Arfonad)
Antimuscarinic
Atropine Glycopyrrolate (Robinul) Benzotropine (Cogentin) Propantheline Scopolamine
Neuromuscular Blockers
Nondepolarizing: vecuronium, cisatracurium (Nimbex), pancuronium (Pavulon), rocuronium (zemuron)
Depolarizing: succinylcholine (Anectine)
Atropine sulfate adult dose
0.4 - 1.0mg
For bradycardia repeat 3-5minutes up to 3 times
Robinul injection
0.2-0.6mg
Effects of Ganglionic blockers
Profound hypotension is loss of sympathetic tone vasculature and histamine release
Negative chronotrope, negative ionotrope
Profound constipation
Ganglionic blockers
Trimethophan (Arfonad)
Dose: 1.0-3.0mg bolus
0.5-6.0mg/min
Nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocker drug interactions
Antagonized by acetylcholinesterase inhibitors
Synergistic with Ca channel blockers
Synergistic with halogenated hydrocarbon gas anesthetics
Aminoglycoside antibiotics also inhibit ACh release and therefore synergistic
Anectine (SUX)
200mg/10mL
Very short acting , used for intubation
