Q

What is Anti microbial resistance and why is it an issue?

A
  • increasing mortality and morbidity due to untreatable infections. Bacteria, fungi and parasites became resistant to antimicrobials.
So common infections can not be treated due to no treatment options.
  • v/ few new antimicrobials are coming to the market as pharmaceutical companies do not want to put money into a new antibiotic that will become resistance as they will loose money.
