Hypotension, bradycardia
Considerations: monitor for CNS adverse effects
Monitor BP and HR and cardiac rhythm

Class II - Beta blockers
Adverse effects: bradycardia, hypotension
Bronchospasms
Increase in heart failure
Fatigue and sleep disturbances
Considerations: monitor apical HR, cardiac rhythm, BP
Assess for SOB/wheezing
Assess for fatigue/sleep disturbances
Assess APICAL HR FOR 1 MIN before administration
Amiodarone
Ibutilide fumarole
Class III
Adverse: hypotension, bradycardia, AV block
Muscle weakness, tremors
Photo sensitivity/photophobia
LIVER TOXicity
Considerations: continuous monitoring of cardiac rhythm during IV admin
Monitor QT interval during IV admin
Monitor HR, BP during initiation of therapy
Wear sunglasses/sunscreen
Verapamil
Diltiazem hcl
Class IV - Calcium channel blocker
Adverse: bradycardia, hypotension
Dizziness and orthostatic hypotension
Heart failure
Conditions: monitor apical HR and BP
Instruct clients about orthostatic precautions
Instruct clients to report signs of heart failure to health care provider
