Anticoagulants:drug actions
inhibit blood clot formation by:decreasing platelet stickiness;blocking portions of the clotting system;decreasing blood coagulability;increasing the time it takes for blood to clot;prevents existing clots from becoming larger, but does not dissolve an existing thrombus

prevention and/or management of blood clots for patients with:pulmonary embolism;deep vein thrombosis;thrombophlebitis;AFib;CHF;Acute Coronary Syndrome;stents in coronary, renal, or other arteries;hemodialysis;valve replacements

bleeding in the forms of bruising, hematuria, and bright red blood from the gums, stool, nose, etc.
