Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003 and Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011
ASB definition:
ASB Act 2003 and PR&SR Act 2011
‘behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to one or more other persons not of the same household as the person’
ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014, definition added:
Conduct that has caused, or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person, conduct capable of causing nuisance and annoyance to person in relation to that persons occupation of residential premises, and causing housing related nuisance and annoyance
How to reduce ASB (Met Strategy)
- Reduce risk, harm and long term demand associated with ASB through partnership orientated problem solving
- Improve public confidence through effective engagement, reducing ASB
- Reduce the number of repeat victims and offenders
Personal ASB
Deliberately targeted at a particular individual or group
Nuisance ASB
Nuisances are acts, things or persons that cause annoyance, inconvenience, offence or suffering to the local community, rather than too individuals
Environment ASB
Individuals/ groups have an impact on their surroundings, natural, built and social
Airspace
Reporting tool that is able to track all confirmed incidents of ASB
VASB and VAF
Victim Offender Location Time approach to ASB
Once confirmed incident of ASB, must complete the vulnerability assessment framework (VAF)
