Anti-Arrythmics Flashcards
Which 3 drug classes should be used in AF?
Rate Control - bisoprolol, verapimil, diltiazem
Rhythm Control - sotalol, flecainide with bisoprolol
Anticoagulation - Warfarin, NOAC
Which IV drugs should be used in ventricular tachycardia?
Metoprolol, Lignocaine, Amiodarone (depends on what the patient is already on)
Should Flecainide be used alone in atrial flutter?
No
Also, need to give AVN blocking drugs to reduce vent rates
Name 2 drugs that are the best for WPW?
Flecainide
Amiodarone
IV acute or oral for long term
List drugs that can be used in re-entrant SVT
Acute (IV) - Adenosine, Verapimil, Flecainide
Chronic (oral) - Bisoprolol, Flecainide, Amiodarone, Procainamide, Verapimil
Which drugs do you use for ectopic beats?
Bisoprolol
Flecainide, Sotalol, Amiodarone - only if bisoprolol doesn’t work
Which drugs would you use to treat sinus tachycardia?
Ivabradine
Bisoprolol/Verapimil (as ivabradine is teratogenic)
