Mi vecindario era muy acogedor y estaba lleno de niños de todas las edades. Había parques cercanos donde podíamos jugar al fútbol o al baloncesto, y siempre había alguien disponible para hacer actividades al aire libre.
My neighborhood was very welcoming and full of children of all ages. There were parks nearby where we could play soccer or basketball, and there was always someone available for outdoor activities.

Mi escuela era bastante grande para mí en aquel entonces. Tenía varios edificios dispersos por el campus y una gran cantidad de aulas donde recibíamos clases. Recuerdo que había un patio de recreo bastante amplio donde solíamos jugar durante los descansos.
My school was pretty big for me back then. It had several buildings scattered around the campus and a large number of classrooms where we received classes. I remember there was a fairly large playground where we used to play during breaks.

Mis mejores amigos eran Pablo y Laura. Íbamos juntos a la misma escuela y solíamos pasar mucho tiempo después de clase. Nos encantaba explorar los parques, construir fuertes con mantas y jugar a juegos de mesa en nuestras casas.
My best friends were Pablo and Laura. We went to the same school together and used to spend a lot of time after school. We loved exploring the parks, building blanket forts, and playing board games in our houses.

Solíamos tener la costumbre de juntarnos todos los fines de semana en el parque para jugar partidos de fútbol. También nos gustaba organizar cacerías del tesoro por el vecindario y pasar tardes enteras jugando al escondite.
We used to have the habit of getting together every weekend in the park to play soccer games. We also liked to organize scavenger hunts around the neighborhood and spend entire afternoons playing hide-and-seek.

Después de la escuela, solía volver a casa y merendar mientras hacía los deberes. Después, si el clima lo permitía, quedaba con mis amigos en el parque para jugar hasta la hora de la cena. Los días de lluvia nos quedábamos en casa jugando a juegos de mesa o viendo películas
After school, I used to come home and have a snack while I did my homework. Afterwards, weather permitting, I would meet my friends in the park to play until dinner time. On rainy days we stayed at home playing board games or watching movies.

Mi juguete favorito era un tren de juguete que me regaló mi abuelo cuando cumplí cinco años. Pasaba horas jugando con él, creando diferentes rutas y estaciones. Aunque ya no lo tengo, conservo muchos recuerdos felices de aquel tren.
My favorite toy was a toy train that my grandfather gave me when I turned five. I spent hours playing with it, creating different routes and stations. Although I no longer have it, I have many happy memories of that train.

En mi barrio, solíamos organizar una fiesta de vecinos cada verano, donde cada familia traía algo para compartir, ya fuera comida, juegos o música. Era una gran oportunidad para reunirnos y fortalecer los lazos comunitarios.
In my neighborhood, we used to host a block party every summer, where each family brought something to share, whether it was food, games, or music. It was a great opportunity to get together and strengthen community ties.

las celebraciones de cumpleaños solían ser eventos muy esperados. Solía invitar a mis amigos a casa y hacíamos juegos, soplábamos las velas del pastel y abríamos regalos. Era un día muy especial que esperaba con ansias cada año.
Birthday celebrations used to be highly anticipated events. I used to invite my friends over and we would play games, blow out the candles on the cake, and open gifts. It was a very special day that I looked forward to every year
Notas alguna diferencia entre las costumbres y actividades de aquel entonces y las de ahora en tu entorno?
Do you notice any differences between the customs and activities of that time and those of now in your environment?
Sí, definitivamente hay diferencias. Antes pasábamos más tiempo al aire libre y jugábamos juegos más tradicionales como el escondite o la rayuela. Ahora, con la tecnología, los niños tienden a pasar más tiempo dentro de casa y jugar con dispositivos electrónicos.
Yes, there are definitely differences. Before we spent more time outdoors and played more traditional games like hide-and-seek or hopscotch. Now, with technology, children tend to spend more time indoors and play with electronic devices.
