Why is an anterior eye check needed?
→ checks health
→ CL suitability

What are grading scales useful for?
→ allows continuity, consistency & objectivity
→ sets a baseline
→ monitors progression
How much of a change in grade is considered clinically significant?
> 1 grade
What may cause CL fit/comfort issues?
Pinguecula or Pterygium
What SL settings do you need when using fluorescein?
→ med mag, narrow beam, bright illum
→ blue light 4 Wratten filter
→ check 3 gazes
How do you evert a lower lid?
→ px looks up
→ finger/thumb - 0.5 cm below lash line & push up
How do you evert a top lid?
→ px looks down
→ cotton bud in same hand of eye you’re everting (their RE: your RH) and hold
@ 45 degrees
→ hold lid (not lashes!) towards lid margin & pull towards you
→ push cotton bud into lid crease & wrap lid around it
→ remove cotton bud 4 support @ outer canthus w/ finger
→ pull lid back towards you to re-evert
What SL settings do you need for viewing lid eversion?
Low mag, med illum
