V3 (nerve to mylohyoid, a branch off the inferior alveolar nerve)
What innervates the stylohyoid and posterior belly of digastric muscles?
CN VII (cervical branch)
Where is the geniohyoid muscle and what innervates it?
- Its superior to the mylohyoid
- Innervated by C1 ventral primary rami via XII (hypoglossal
What supplies motor innervation to the infrahyoid muscles?
What is the exception?
Ansa cervicalis supplies motor innervation to the infrahyoid muscles EXCEPT thyrohyoid which is supplied by C1 via CN XII (hypoglossal)
What else in this region is supplied by the cervical branch of CN VII
The platysma muscle (makes sense as it is a muscle of facial expression)
