Portal is medial to TA; watch out for saphenous n. and vein, which is medial to the portal.

Portal is lateral to peroneus tertius; watch out for intermediate dorsal cutaneous n.

Lactated Ringer’s; has been shown to be better for cartilage, NS has been shown to be damaging to cartilage cells.
