Morton’s Test

A

SUPINE
Neuroma
1. Use the thumb and index finger of one hand to squeeze the dorsal and plantar aspects of each intermetatarsal space.
Fracture
2. Grasp the foot around the metatarsal heads and squeeze the heads together

TESTING: Neuroma or Fracture
+ve: pain/clicking

A

SUPINE
Ex. stabilize the foot and talus and push the tibia and fibula posteriorly w dorsiflexion.

TESTING: Injury of the Anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL)

+ve: excessive laxity, visible dimple or pain

Feiss Line

A

LONGSIT - draw three dots on the apex of the med malleoli, navicular tuberosity and plantar base 1st MT.
STAND - see if middle dot drops to the ground

TESTING: flatfooted

+ve: Navicular drops 1/3 = 1st degree flatfoot
Navicular drops 2/3 = 2nd degree flatfoot
Navicular drops 3/3 = 3rd degree (navicular on ground)
