ANIMATION Flashcards
Animation
Pre recorded set of frames to show movement of a graphic
Transition
The joining of two video clips
Allows animations to blend and smoothly transition into the next slide etc
It can be instant, fade, pan etc
Motion Capture
Recording patterns of movement digitally such as capturing an actors movements for purposes such as a video game
For example, when someone gets shot in COD the movement must be realistic
Motion Tweening
Animating graphical objects and CAD models by setting a start and end position and allowing the computer to plot the animation inbetween
Stop Frame Animation
A sequence of images captured one frame at a time which are rapidly played to give the illusion of movement
Good for clay models like Wallace and Gromit
Usually played at 25 frames per second for the human eye to not notice the change in images
Key Frame Animation
A key frame animation is a drawing that defines the start and end point of any smooth transition
The drawings are called frames because their position in time is measured in frames on a strip of film
