  1. It is a blackish brown coloured beetle measuring about 2cm in size with three pairs of white stripes running obliquely across the wings mainly affecting coffee plants
  2. Alternate host plants of this beetle include rose sandal wood, teak,etc
  3. This beetle sucks of all the water from the root —> this low supply of water to the plants so leaves gets dry and loss of yield

Measures to curb this

  1. Building good shade —> so that beetle cant lay eggs
  2. Identifying the infested plants, uprooting them and burning them
  3. Spraying once in April-may with chlorpyrifos 20 EC at 600 ml in 200 liters of water with 200 ml of wetting agent

  7. Asian forest tortoise —> is considered to be the largest tortoise in mainland Asia and its found only in the north east of India
  8. The north east of india is considered as a very rich eco systems for turtles, terrapins and tortoises which belong to the Chelonian order
  9. As of today there are 29 non Marine Chelonian species found in India —>as of them 21 are found in North east of india only
  10. The impressive tortoise is 1/3 rd of the size of the Asian forest tortoise

Impressed Tortoise (Manouria Impressa) is categorized as vulnerable in IUCN Red List Status.
