Characteristics of epithelial tissue

A
  • Covers internal/external free surfaces and organs
  • Cells of the tissue are closely packed
  • Have both apical and basal surfaces where apical remains fre and basal is attached to basement membrane
  • No blood vessels present in the tissue
  • Tissue gets nutrients and O from the underneath connective tissue.
