Animal Cell Division Flashcards
Why do Cell’s Divide
Cell divide to generate new cell.
Why is Cell Division necessary?
- It helps organisms grow,
- repair tissues and organs
- Reproduction formed by sex cells
What is another term for ‘Cell Division’?
Mitosis
What is in a normal Cell Division?
The information coded copied in the Chromosomes inside the nucleus before the cell starts to splits.
What does information coded mean?
Genetic instructions of proteins the organisms synthesize.
What does Protein synthesis mean?
When cells generates protein.
What happens in a chromosomes in a Cell Division
Chromosomes makes copies of the information coded. After, the chromosomes lines up, then splits. The cells than divides to a new cell.
What is a cell formed by a division called?
Daughter Cell
Why does the chromosomes have to make copies?
For the new cells to have a copy of information that controls the cells.
What happens to the cytoplasm in a cell division?
The ring in between the cell gets pinched inwards, which creates a cleavage furrow.
What happens to a mitochondria in a cell division?
The mitochondria gets equally split to each of the daughter cell.
Draw a diagram of the process of normal cell division:
Parent cell ➡ Chromosomes makes copies ➡Chromosomes line up➡Chromosomes splits➡Cell divides ➡ Two daughter cells(new cells from cell division)
Draw a diagram of Mitosis in an animal cell:
Parent cell ➡ Chromosomes makes copies ➡ Cytoplasm divides➡ cell splits ➡ two new identical daughter cell
What does the new daughter cell absorb?
Nutrients for it to grow.
What does the new daughter cell after?
It either keeps in abilities to divide, while the other would turn into a specialized cell.
