A ‘crime’ is an activity that breaks the law

During the Anglo Saxon times the people who made the law were people with power and wealth but after about 1000AD it was only really the king who made the law

He increased the power of the king to make new laws and introduce new crimes

Henry introduced a uniform legal system with written laws across the whole country
