Angina Pectoralis Flashcards
1
Q
Definition
A
Intermittent Chest Pain caused by Transient Reversible Myocardial Ischemia
2
Q
Types
A
1) Stable Angina
- *2) Unstable Angina
3) Prinzmental Angina**
3
Q
Stable Angina
A
- Patient has Fixen Coronary Artery (pain associated with Incr. Myocardial Demand)
- Substernal Pain
-Radiation (LA/L. neck)
- At Basal State = Ok
- NG relieves (decr. VR –> decr. Cardiac Work)
4
Q
Unstable Angina
A
- Increasing Freq + intensity of pain precipitated by progressively less exertion
- more intense + longer lasting than Stable Angina
Cause:
- Disruption of Plaque
- Superimposed Partial Thrombus
- Vasospasm
HARBRINGER OF MORE SERIOUS DISEASE
5
Q
Prinzmental
A
- Vasospasm of CA (occurs at rest)
- can affect normal vessel
- NG relieves it
6
Q
Causes of CIHD
A
CIHD: development of ischemia is slower
Cause:
1. Post MI (LVH )
- HT (LVH)
