Beta blockers
ACE inhibitors
Calcium channel blockers
Anticoagulants 
Oral antiplatelets 

These help to reduce BP, HR and cholesterol levels. As well as reduce strain on the heart and relax blood vessels (increasing blood grow to myocardium)

A
  1. Relaxes blood vessels in the body (vasodilates) which reduces the strain on the heart, making it easier to pump blood.
  2. Relaxed coronary arteries which increases blood flow to myocardium

List some nursing considerations for GTN

A

Ensure pt in bed when administering
Stay w pt at all times
Reassess pain (PQRST) and full set vital signs about 1 min post administration
If pain does not ease within 1 min they can take another tablet after 5 min
