Management angina
A
- All patients statin and aspirin unless contraindicated
- GTN spray to terminate attacks
- BB/CCB to reduce symptoms
- If not controlled with one of these, add the other (BB+ amlodipine eg but NOT BB + verapamil - risk of heart block)
- If contrainidcated, use long acting nitrate eg isosorbide mononitrate, ivabradine, nicorandil, ranolazine
If using BB with CCB remember you cannot use heart specific ones+BB
