- Patient can still respond to verbal commands
- Cognitive function and corrdination may be impaired
- Ventalation and cardiac function unaffected

Moderate Sedation
A
- Conscious sedation
- Decreased LOC
- Still responds to verbal commands and light touch
- Airway, ventilation and cardiac function unaffected

Deep Sedation
A
- Decreased LOC
- May respond to painful stimuli
- May have impaired ventilation, may need to maintain airway
- Cardiac function usually ok

General Anesthesia
A
- Not arousable
- You must maintain airway, ventilation
- Cardiac function may be impaired

Dissociative Anethesia
A
- Trancelike cataleptic state
- Ketamine
- Analgesia and amnesia
- Retain protective airway responses
