Q
What is an anenometer used for?
A
To measure the speed and velocity of wind.
3
Q
How does a 4 cup anenometer work.
A
Made up of a shraft with rotating hollow cups that catch the wind. They are mounted on the shraft above the ground to minimise the effect of friction and to avoid wind gusts.
4
Q
How is the speed of rotation measures and what is the unit of measurement.
A
It is shown on a dial and is measured in km/h.
5
Q
Where should they be sited?
A
On poles 10m in height above the ground in an open space away from any obstacles that could block wind.
