The scores are classified into two dimensions: masculine-feminine or androgynous-undifferentiated
What did Bem say that high androgyny was associated with?
Psychological wellbeing because it meant they were more adaptable to the demands of modern day life.
How did Bem choose the characteristics on her BSRI?
She compiled a list of 200 personality traits and asked 100 independent judges how desirable it would be for a male or female to be said characteristic. She then picked the traits most highly considered to be masculine/feminine.

S: a correlation was found between high androgyny score and ability to resist social pressures and flexibility. Also good test-retest reliability.
C: scoring system is subjective, link between androgyny and well being can be bc of self esteem, temporal validity
