Q

HELLENISTIC PERIOD. “Greek-like” art created by Romans , Egyptians, etc. as Greek political power wanes and Rome rises. Emphasis is now longer on idealistic content- instead more subjective emotionalism and realism is stressed during this period of chaotic social change. Exaggerated emotions, horrific, violent or pessimistic content dominates but formal aspects remain influenced by Greek models.
