What is the tympanic membrane formed of ?
A
It is formed mainly of connective tissue, with skin on the outside and a mucous membrane on the inside.

The malleus is in direct contact with the tympanic membrane at two main points: What are they ?
A
1- The handle of the malleus - This creates a concavity known as the umbo.
2- The lateral process of the malleus- It created the anterior and posterior malleolar folds.
