3
Q

Roll

A

consists of one joint surface rolling on another.

e.g. movement between the femoral and tibial articular surfaces of knee.

Q

Glide

A

consists of a pure translatory motion of one surface gliding on another.
e.g. movement of the joint surface of the proximal phalanx (feilencs) at the head of the metacartal bone of the hand.

Q

Spin

A

consists of a rotation of the movable component of the joint.
e.g. movement between joint surfaces of radial head with humerus.

7
Q

Convex- concave rule

A

convex surface moves- surface and bone moves in the opposite direction.
concave surface moves - surface and bone slide in the same direction.
In the spine, the convex rule applies at the atlanto-occipital joint, Below the second vertebra, the concave rule applies.

20
Q

Grading of accessory joint moviment or joint play

A

is graded to assess arthrokimatic motion of the joint and /or when it is impractical or impossible to measure joint motion with goniometer.

21
Q

Manual Grading of accessory joint motion

A

0- Ankylosed (enquilouset)
1- Considerable (kensirabol ) hypomobility (raipomobílary)
2- Slight (islait) leve/ligeira) hypomobility
3- Normal
4- SJlight hypermobility (raipermobílary)
5- Considerable hypermobility
6- Unstable
