Anatomical Position
Description of the body planes and axis. The Body is in erect posture, face foreward, with arms at the sides of the body, palms facing foreward with fingers and thumbs in extension
Anterior/vebtral
front of the body.
contralateral
on opposite sides of the body.
cranial/caudal
a distance of a structure from the head
caudal- a distance of a structure from the feet.
frontal plane
Divides the body into anterior and posterior halves. Vertical.
Ipsilateral
same side of the body
lateral
away from mid point
sagittal plane
dividing the body into left and right halves
superficial
situated closer to the exterior of the body.
supine
face up
transverse plane
Dividing the body horizontally into a superiand inferior halves
dorsifelxion
flexing tha foot toward the body.
planter flexion
Position in which the foot is lower than the ankle.
pronation
Turning the palms to face backwards

Involuntary system that controls nerve impulses to smooth the muscle.

Structural unit of the nervous system.
sciatic nerve
the largest nerve of the lumbosacral plexus( supplies calf muscle)

Pertaining to that region of the neck, as in the seven cervical vertebrae
