What are the borders of the anterior neck triangle?
Ant: med line of neck
Post: sternocleidomastoid
Inf/base: jugular notch
Roof: platysma muscle
What are the subdivisions of the anterior neck triangle?
submandibular, submental, carotid
What are the borders of the carotid triangle?

Sup: post belly of digastric muscle
Post: ant margin of sternocleidomastoid
What are the contents of the carotid triangle?
common carotid artery, carotid sinus, int jugular vein, vagus nerve, ext carotid, hypoglossal nerve, ansa cervicalis, accessory nerve, thyroid, larynx, pharynx, brachial plexus
What are the borders of the posterior neck triangle?
Ant: sternocleidomastoid
Post: ant border of traps
Inf/base: middle 1/3 clavicle
Roof: deep cervical fascia
What are the contents of the posterior neck triangle?
cervical plexus, suprascapular part of brachial plexus, cervical and suprascapular vessels, lymph nodes
What are the subdivisions of the posterior neck triangle?
- occipital triangle
- supraclavicular triangle
- divided by omohyoid muscle
What is thoracic outlet syndrome?
- neurovascular compression
- costoclavicular space
- scalene triangle
What are the borders of the axilla?

What are the contents of the axilla?
infraclavicular part of brachial plexus, axillary artery, lymph nodes, fat and connective tissue
What are the supraclavicular branches of the brachial plexus?
Roots: -nerves to scalini and longus colli -branch to phrenic -dorsal scapualar -long thoracic Trunks -nerve to subclavius -suprascapular
Dorsal scapular
- muscular branches supply: levator scap, rhomboids
- no sensory branches
- runs posteriorly
Long thoracic
- muscular branches: serratus ant
- no sensory branches
- post to brachial plexus
Suprascapular
- muscular branches: infraspinatus, supraspinatus
- no sensory branches
- passes through suprascapular notch and around spinoglenoid notch
