Anatomy Flashcards
Cornea characteristics:
- helps eye refract
- has 43 D of power
Three layers (or tunics) of Outer Eye are:
- Outer Sclera & cornea
- Choroid (vascular, blood vessels)
- Retina
Three Chambers of Inner Eye:
Front: Anterior Chamber (filled w aqueous humor, Iris divides chambers
Middle: Posterior Chamber
Back: Vitreous Chamber
Crystalline Lens characteristics:
Ciliary muscles/zonules flex it to create accommodation
Myopia anatomy:
Minus power. Eye is too long, light focuses before retina.
Hyperopia Anatomy characteristics:
Plus power. Eye is too short. Light focuses past retina.
Astigmatism characteristics:
Football shaped eye.
Power on two meridians.
Light focuses at two points.
Spherical
Light doesn’t focus right
Coma
Bundle of rays form distortion
Chromatic aberration
Lens dispersed light into rainbow, low abbé value, halos
Oblique astigmatism
Causes astigmatism. Bundle of light enters at oblique angle
Curvature field
Has power different at edge of lens
Distortion
Magnifications occur at edge
