Anatomy 2 Flashcards
Iliofemoral ligament resists
hyperextension of hip, as well as internal/external rotation
adductor canal contains
also called subsartorial canal - contains femoral artery/vein as well as saphenous nerve.
sciatic nerve path
greater sciatic foramen - breaks into tibial and common peroneal around the popliteal fossa
adductor magnus actions - nerve
adduction, hip flexion (adductor part - obturator nerve) hip extension (hamstring part - sciatic nerve))
adductor that crosses the knee
gracilis
deep peroneal nerve supplies
anterior compartment of leg and foot
thigh innervation
anterior compartment = femoral nerve
posterior comparment = tibial division of sciatic N.
medial compartment = mostly obrutator nerve
posterior compartments innervation
sciatic nerve for thigh, tibial nerve for shank, medial-lateral plantar nerve in foot which is a split of the tibial nerve
