Anatomy 1 Flashcards
What is negative feedback
brings things back to homeostasis
what is positive feedback
What ever is happening with in the body keep it going to to keep homeostasis (much less common than neg feed back)
What is exuilibrium
maintaining homeostasis
what are the 3 components of feedback loop
Receptor, Control centre, Effector
What is homeostasis
it helps our body maintain stable conditions. so keeps things within a normal range
What is pathophysiology
the study of disease or abnormal processes.
Change in tissue
What makes up the human body
Atoms: make up molecules Molecules: a bunch of them make up cells Cells: make up tissues Tissues: make up organs Organs: make you!
What does reseptor mean
It monitors the bodys environment
What is control centre
deals with receptors and decides to make a change if the body needs it. e.g. producing seat to cool the body
what does effector mean
the body doing something e.g. seat glands open to cool the body down during a fever
what is anatomy
the study of structure of body parts and their relationship to one another
what is physiology
the study of the function of the body’s structural machinery often cellular mechanical level
what is pathophysiology
the study of structural and functional changes in tissue and organs that lead to disease
