What is the anatomical position
a basic position that can always be used as a reference point. head forward, feet parallel, arms hanging by the side and palms facing forward.
What is the front of the body called?
Anterior or Ventral
What is the back of the body called?
Posterior or dorsal
What is the definition of the midline or median line?
A imaginary line that runs through the centre of the body.
What is superior
Towards the head, above
What is inferior?
Away from the head, below
What is the medial?
Towards the midline, on the inner side
What is lateral?
Away from the midline, on the outer side
What is proximal?
Closer to its origin or point of attachment of a limb
What is distal?
Farther from its origin or point of attachment of a limb
What is superficial?
Towards the surface of the body
What does deep mean
It is away from the surface of the body
What is peripheral?
At the surface ir the outer part of the body
What is anterior?
at the front of the body, in front of
What is posterior
At the back of the body. behind
What is Cephalad
Towards the head, above
What is crainal
Of or relating to the skull (can also mean towards the head or cranium)
What does caudal mean?
Away from the head, below

A body cavity is the spaces that are in the body that contain and protect the organs of the body. For example, the cranial cavity contains the brain.
