What is an Antigen?
A
A ‘threat’ to the body that stimulates the production of antibodies

A
Large proteins that neutralise antigens

What is an Allergic reaction?
A
A localised immune reaction that may cause mild to moderate symptoms

What is Anaphylaxis
A
A sudden, widespread & severe allergic reaction that can be life threatening

R.A.S.H, two or more
A
-R respiratory distress (SOB, audible wheeze, cough, stridor)
-A abdominal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain/ cramps)
-S skin/ mucosal symptoms (hives, welts itch, flushing, andioedema/ facial swelling)
-H hypotension (or altered conscious state)
