Etomidate Class
Nonnarcartic/Nonbarbituate hypnotic-sedative (GABA Agonist)
Etomidate Indications
Used as an RSI induction agent, synchronized cardioversion, anti-anxiolytic & sedative.
Etomidate Contraindications
Used with caution in patients with adrenal supression

0.3 mg/kg IV/IO One Dose Only

Short acting (up to 5 minutes duration) and has little effect on BP, rate & ICP
Ketamine Class
Dissociative anesthetic that produces hullucinogenic, hypnotic, & sedative effects (Glutamate Antagonist)
Ketamine Indications
Used as an RSI induction agent, synchronized cardioversion, anti-anxiolytic & sedative.
Ketamine Contraindications
Increased ICP, hemodynamically unstable tachycardia and/or hypertention

Analgesic - 0.3 mg/kg IV/IO/IM

Opiod analygesic-sedative (Opiod Agonist)

Used as an RSI induction agent, synchronized cardioversion, anti-anxiolytic & sedative.
Fentanyl Contraindications
Hemodynamically unstable patients displaying bradyapnea, hypotention and/or bradycardia.
Fentanyl Dose
2-5 mcg/kg IV/IO
