A rare congenital anaemia characterised by pancytopenia and hypoplasia of the bone marrow.

A
Anaemia due to the abnormal haemolysis (break down) of erythrocytes (red blood cells) either within the blood vessels (intravascular haemolysis) or elsewhere in the human body (extravascular haemolysis)

What are the symptoms of haemolytic anaemia?
A
- Fatigue
- Shortness of breath
- Jaundice (due to haemolysis)

What does jaundice due to haemolytic anaemia increase the risk of?
A
Long-term complications such as gallstones and pulmonary hypertension.
