What is retrograde amnesia?
When someone is unable to remember information about events BEFORE a traumatic injury
What problems may someone with retrograde amnesia face in everyday life?
They may not be able to remember who they are or where they came from
How could someone with retrograde amnesia cope with their condition?
Look at pictures from their childhood/ before the injury took place
What in anterograde amnesia?
When a person is unable to remember information after a traumatic injury. They can process sensory information but it doesn’t transfer to LTM
What sort of problem does someone with anterograde amnesia have in everyday life?
They can’t remember any information (eg. names) after around 18 seconds
How could someone with anterograde amnesia cope with their condition?
They could write things down or keep a video diary
