Why are you allowed to add an amendment to the constitution?
A
When the framers wrote the constitution they realized it wasn’t perfect. They wrote that you can propose an amendment.

What are the 2 ways that an amendment can be proposed?
A
- Congress proposes it and votes with a 2/3 majority
2. Congress calls for a convention and at least 2/3 of the state legislature vote to change it

How can an amendment be ratified?
A
- Approved by the state legislature in a 3/4 majority
2. Special convention in at least 3/4 of states sign it
