Slows the sinus rate and increases the refractory period of the AV node
Decreases peripheral vascular resistance

Torsades de Pointes
Amiodarone adult dose in cardiac arrest.
IV 300mg
1 repeat of 150mg
Max Total 450mg
Amiodorone paediatric dose cardiac arrest
IV/IO 5 mg/kg Max bolus 300 mg
One repeat of 5 mg/kg
not to exceed 450mg Max total
Amiodarone dose for dysrhythmia’s tachycardia Adult
IV 50mg (1ml) bolus
Repeat every 3 minutes
max total dose 300 mg
