Touching an enemy in battle with a long stick, this was considered braver than actually killing them

Leader of a band/tribe but not elected, became chief because of wisdom, healing power or skills as a warrior

A group of elders/chiefs who make decisions for the band/tribe
What is a warrior society?
A group of warriors from a band who hunted and protected the band
What was the sun dance?
A ceremony where hooks (usually animal claws) were put through the skin of the chest and the person was hanged up until the skin ripped. This was done to make sure the sun came back.
What is a Buffalo?
A large animal that lived on the plains and was essential to plains Indians way of life
