Q

Why major conflict occurs between Indians and colonists

A

Settlers were living on lands the Indians had inhabited for many years. Indians believed in tribal ownership of land while Europeans believed in private property and permanent ownership. Most Colonists did not pay the Indians for the land and the Indians were being pushed off the land that they had depended on for food, Indians realize the colonists have more powerful weapons. Also Indians became more dependent on trade with the colonists and became less influential on other tribes

34
Q

What were the differences between New England, the Middle and Southern Colonies

A

The New England Colonies Lived in rocky, rough geography, so it was hard to plant and grow food crops, So they relied on fishing, and they were shipbuilders and also wailers. The middle colonies lived on soft soil, and produced lots of wheat, and corn and was known as the bread colonies. Their activities were lumbering and mass production. The southern colonies relied on cash crops, and food crops for extra money and food. Most of them either lived on farms, or very large farms called plantations. They lived in agriculture, and had slaves in the southern colonies
